Welcome to the 36th Annual East End Historical District Holiday Homes Tour!
Friday, December 5, 2025, 5:30 to 9:30 p.m.
We invite you to experience a wonderful evening of historic homes festively decorated for Christmas!
On Friday, December 5th, 5:30 to 9:30 PM, tour the interior of four private, historic properties and enjoy the exterior beauty and grandeur of many more homes throughout the 58 blocks of our East End Historical District, all while listening to a variety of holiday music. Stop by the Cottage for a cookie and keep an eye out for Santa Claus.
The elegant homes of the East End Historical District are the products of skilled European immigrants during a time when Galveston was the wealthiest city in Texas. These homes were designed in a variety of architectural styles for prosperous merchants and entrepreneurs. Our neighborhood has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places and has been designated a National Historic Landmark. Your ticket purchase helps us with the upkeep and preservation of our two neighborhood parks, Darragh and Alderdice, and our historic Cottage, plus our ongoing mission of community engagement.
Holiday Homes Tour tickets are non-refundable. In case of inclement weather, the tour may be canceled altogether, suspended temporarily or discontinued for the remainder of the evening at the sole discretion of event staff. Smoking, interior photos, food, drink, strollers, wagons, and pets are not allowed onsite at any of the homes on tour. Children in arms are free – Children on foot require their own tour ticket. Each home may ask tourgoers to remove or cover their shoes while inside the space. Homes featured on the tour may not be handicap accessible. East End Historic District Neighborhood Christmas Lighting Contest

When: Thursday, December 4, 2025
Where: Within the boundaries of our historic east end neighborhood
Time: Have your lights on by 6 PM. Judging begins at dark.
Winners: 1st , 2nd, & 3rd Place Winners to be announced by Friday morning. Yes, you might wake up to a winning sign in your yard!
Please help make our neighborhood festive and bright! Gather your garlands and lights to decorate your home for our Christmas Lighting Contest, and please keep your lights on to help our beautiful neighborhood shine for our 36th Annual Holiday Homes Tour on the 5th. Good luck to all and have fun!
